The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“We all have our hiding places. Not just physical ones. Places deep inside where we put away the things we don’t want others to see. The less palatable parts. Our St. Peter’s box, I call it, The one we pray he won’t find when we’re trying to sneak in through the pearly gates.”
― C.J. Tudor, The Burning Girls
Holy guacamole. This book is dark. Very very dark. Sick, twisted, vile, and disgusting. And I loved every single minute of it. This cross-genre is part folklore, mystery, horror, and thriller, all wrapped into one. Original storytelling at it’s best! With hidden crypts, burning twig dolls, serial killers, and a small creepy town with secrets, how can you go wrong? Five squeamish stars.
